G.O(Ms) No. 49/04/LBR Dated,Thiruvananthapuram, 1/9/2004.

S.R.O. No. /2004 –In Exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (Central Act 14 of 1947), the Government of Kerala hereby appoint The Development Commissioner, Cochin Special Economic Zone, (CSEZ), Kochi to be the Conciliation Officer under the said Act charged with the duty of mediating and promoting the settlement of Industrial Disputes in respect of the industrial units with the territorial jurisdiction of the Cochin Special Economic Zone, Kochi from the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette.

The Conciliation Officer shall report to the Labour Department of the State Government on labour matters connected to the Cochin Special Economic Zone are and the existing provisions of all labour laws would be applicable to the units in the said area.

Explanatory Note

As per G.O. (Rt) No. 576/03/ID dated 17^th June 2003 the Government have approved the policy on Special Economic Zones. By way of implementation of the approved policy, the Government have decided to issue a notification to appoint the Development Commissioner, Cochin Special Economic Zone as Conciliation Officer under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 within the territorial jurisdiction of Cochin Special Economic Zone.

This notification is intended to achieve the above object
