Thiruvananthapuram, 9th July, 1985.
S.R.O.No.1048/85.-In exercise of the powers conferred by
sub-section (2) of Section 78 of the Registration Act, 1908
(Central Act XVI of 1908), the Government of Kerala, being the
opinion that it is necessary in the public interest so to do,
hereby remit the fees payable for the registration of instruments
of sale and lease to be executed in favour of the industries in
the Cochin Export Processing Zone, under the said Act.

Explanatory note
(This does not form
part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general
purport.)
In G.O.
Ms. 10/85/TD dated 10-01-1985, order have been issued exempting
the industries in the Cochin Export Processing Zone from payment
of registration charges for the execution of instruments of sale
and lease. Necessary statutory notification have to be issued
from the Taxes Department ion order to give validity to the above
order. This notification is intended to achieve this object.

S.R.O.No.57/2002.-In exercise of the powers conferred by
sub-section (2) of section 78 of the Registration Act, 1908
(Central Act XVI of 1908), the Government of Kerala hereby make
the following amendment to the order issued under G.O. (P) No.
80/85/TD dated 9th July, 1985 and published as SRO
No.1048/85 in Kerala Gazette No.31 dated 30th July 1985
namely:-
AMENDMENT
In the
said order, for the words “Cochin Export Processing Zone” the
words “Cochin Special Economic Zone” shall be substituted.
This
Notification shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st
day of November 2000.

As per the order
issued under G.O. (P) No. 80/85/TD dated 9-7-1985 and published as
S.R.O. No.1048/85 Government of Kerala have remitted the
registration charges for the execution of instruments of sale and
lease to be executed in favour of the industries in the Cochin
Export Processing Zone under the Registration Act, 1908 (Central
Act XVI of 1908). The Government of India, Ministry of Commerce
and Industry vide resolution No. 6/8/99 EPZ dated, 1st
November, 2000 have converted the Cochin Export Processing Zone (CEPZ)
into Cochin Special Economic Zone with effect from 1-11-2000.
Hence the existing order has to be amended suitably.
This Notification is
intended to achieve the above subject.
