How can I reach CSEZ?
CSEZ is located in Kakkanad, 5 kms away from the Cochin city
limits, next to Civil Station, Kakkanad on the Seaport-Airport
Highway. (See the Location map)

What is the mode of allotment?
SDF is allotted only on lease. The lease is for 15 years. The
lease is renewable.

What is the rent rates?
Lease rent for SDF Rs.720/- per sq.m. per annum.
The lease rent is revisable every 3 years.

Is power available in CSEZ?
Yes
The Zone's power distribution system is
based on a 25 MVA 110/11 KV dedicated sub-station that taps
power from the power backbone of Kerala State.
The power is conveyed through underground
cables laid in ring main system.
The tariff is around Rs.4.00 per unit.

Is water available in CSEZ?
Yes.
The Zone has its own
integrated water supply system. Water is drawn from the
Kadamprayar river and treated at a facility within the Zone. The
system capacity is 1.5 million litres per day.
The water is treated to meet the following international
standards:
The Zone has a one million litre per day
capacity Common Effluent Treatment facility for all sewage and
effluents let out from units. Zone units are required to send
all their sewage and effluent to this treatment plant. They are
not permitted to discharge this outside their premises in any
other manner.
The unit has to apply in the
prescribed format for water connection. The application
alongwith 'Agreement
for Integrated Water Management Services in Cochin SEZ' and
Deposit as instructed by Kitco in the form of DD drawn in favour
of KITCO LTD should be submitted to the Development
Commissioner, CSEZ. The agreement should be executed in stamp
paper worth Rs.50/-

Is telephone connections available in CSEZ?
Yes.
CSEZ has got a 5ESS state-of-the-art telephone exchange inside
the Zone. The exchange is capable of providing most modern
communication technologies. Apply to the Commercial Officer,
Office of the Principal General Manager, BSNL, Kalathiparambil
Road, Ernakulam (Phone # ++91-484-2351900, 2202352) for
telephone connections. The connections are given on demand.

Is Customs facilitation available in CSEZ?
Yes.
CSEZ has a Customs detachment, so that on-site Customs
facilitation is available at all times. All Customs clearances
for imports & exports are completed in the Zone

How can I get internet connection? What is the bandwidth
availability?
Both SEA-ME-WE3 and SAFE International sub-sea cables have
landing points in Cochin. Bandwidth can be obtained from the
following ISPs.
Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL)
VSNL, provides Dial-up connection, ISDN dial
up connection, Internet Leased Line, IPLC etc. The VSNL
gateway is just 1 Km. away from the Zone.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)
BSNL provides leased lines for internet connection. The BSNL
exchange inside the Zone is in the process of installing Direct
Internet Access Service (DIAS), a new technology which is
capable of providing Internet connection 24 hours a day over
existing telephone line without dialing any number. Telephone
calls also can be made over the same telephone line without
terminating the internet connection. Contact:

Ipath India Pvt. Ltd.
Ipath India Pvt. Ltd., operates inside the Zone. Ipath provides
internet leased lines through ISDL and dial up connections. They
provide leased line bandwith ranging from 64 kbps to 1 MB.

Asianet Sattellite Communications provide internet leased lines
through DOCSIS technology (Data Over Cable Services Interface

Can I use the Video Conferencing facility in CSEZ?
Yes.
The Video Conferencing facility can be used by units and
outsiders on payment. The Zone's Video conferencing system works
over 5 ISDN lines.
